It has been a busy busy month. Every month is a busy month, but this month Jake started crawling, which means that he also started pulling on cords and eating things off the floor and chasing the dogs. It has been a month of non stop clean up and Jake proofing the house. Jake has been able to roll over for quite some time now, but decided it was much more productive to cry until someone came over and flipped him over or got him what ever he wanted. However, in discovering how to crawl, he also discovered he could use rolling as a technique to get away from diaper changes, getting dressed, or getting dried off after tubby time. We have had a few messy changings. The little guy is working on this first top tooth coming in, and it is not a fun process at all. After having to be held down by Mommy and Grandma, Jake realized how awesome Oragel can be which has cut back a bit on the fussiness.
Jake also got to meet his cousin Lillian. Lillian's other Grandpa sends Jakes Lillian videos. Jake loves watching Lillian. She is a super cute little lady.
Off to see Lillian. Jake screamed with excitement the entire ride to Brooklyn

Meeting Lillian for the first time.
Singing - These are my feet my feet have 10 toes - with Grandpa
Uncle Jeff gave Jake lots of encouragement as he was learning to crawl - which worked quite well as Jake started crawling a few days after his visit.
A meeting of the minds

Grandma and Grandpa with Jake and Lilly

Jake also got to see Great Grandma
Hey Grandma what do you have there

Jake has been getting very skillful with pulling to stand

Sometimes Lola gets a little too excited that Jake has come over to play and knocks him over.

But they can sit and have a laugh about it.

Pulling to stand does not work well with trying to get Jake to sleep through the night.

Jake has always been very hands-y and has developed a very good pincer grasp. He likes to feed himself puffs and play with his bowls and spoons while he is eating.

Puffs and jumping lead to a crazy combination

Jake went from trying to crawl to sprinting. He is never in one place for very long and you can rarely find him in the same place twice.

Jake has not only been becoming more and more independent with motoring around the house, but he is also abel to play independently longer.

Grandma has some snazzy rugs to play with

Lola has been a real trooper. When she is not at doggie daycare of going on a long walk she hangs out in the sitting room. We are still working on her getting along with Luke, but she still does not approve of any dog getting anywhere near Jake.

When the weather cooperates we try to go on long walks so Jake will nap. Jake knows exactly where the house is and as soon as we hit the driveway his eyeballs pop open. We try to stay outside a bit to enjoy the weather and play with Lola.

Whats going on there Lola

Jumping in the breeze with Lola

Sneak attacking the puff supply

Caught in the act

Sorry Jake

When I was in college and came home after it got dark I had to turn my brights on to check the backyard for wild turkeys that would run across the yard and attack, seriously. Lola is a very good guard girl and makes sure she is the only wild beast around.

Daddy sends some awesome surprise presents. Jake was very excited to get a package from Daddy.
I was a little nervous about how Jake would be with a very large Elmo, but as you can see they hit it off quite well.

All in all we had a pretty fun month.

8 Months.
Taking a monthly picture gets more and more difficult each month.
