Bubble Typhoon

Jake LOVES bubbles. Even when he is in a whiney state of mind, he will always giggle and chase the bubbles, and Lola loves to join in on the fun of eating a bubble mid-air. Mommy is not much of an outdoors-man and is actually pretty horrible at working Jake's squeeze monster bubble blower. So, we got him a Bubble Typhoon. It boasts 5000 bubbles a minute and has strict instructions that is to be used outdoors only. We soon found out why. Jake and Lola both had a great time biting the bubble. They also both got very confused as to where the bubbles went every time the wind changed.

Mr Adventurer

Since getting back west, Jake has been on the move. He started a new daycare and goes two afternoons a week. He gets sad leaving mommy, almost as sad as mommy gets leaving him. On his first day he got very upset and a little blonde girl brought him a bottle filled with purple sparkles and a clear block with a cocoon inside. Little guy has a way with the ladies. Each day time he gets a little more social with his friends. We have been trying to get out as much as possible so that Jake can get better being in his car seat and out in public. Lola has also been going along on the rides. She likes to sniff out the back window and Jake likes to watch her, which keeps him from screaming as soon as he sees his car seat. win win.

The other day Daddy had off from work so we celebrated by taking Jake to the aquarium. He slept the ride up and sang along to sing along songs the entire way back. (You don't know a long night until you have tried to fall asleep with the sound of polly wally doodle playing through your head all. night. long.) Jake had a lot of fun at the aquarium. He got to see the tidal wave pool. Daddy took him to touch the star fish and sea urchins and let him splash the cold water. He especially liked watching the seals and sea lions.

"Whats going on in there guys ?"

Fishies, Daddy, and a package of boogie wipes - HOLLAAAA !!!!

We are trying to get Jake to eat more big people food. Its a process. Its not always productive. Yesterday though, daddy got Jake to eat some banana yogurt and he LOVED dipping the spoon and smearing it on his face.

This might have been the first time Lola went inside her house instead of sitting on top of it.

"Hey Lola, want some breakfast?"

I finally figured out how to get my pictures off my phone and onto my computer. However, now I can not find the button on the website to upload videos. Jake loves to dance and sing to songs and we have quite a few videos that hopefully at some point will be posted. There are now 3 cameras along with my phone that have to be sorted to get pictures from to post, so I keep finding some good ones, but they are a little out of sequence.

WELCOME HOME!!

Jake has been a very busy One Year Old. In addition to steading his gait he spent the month getting ready for DADDY TO COME HOME !!! Things were quite chaotic getting many months of growing packed into a car and shipping boxes togo back home in addition to ever changing travel plans, but non the less very exciting because it meant that DADDY WAS COMING HOME !!

Jake finished up his swim lessons and Daddy was able to join in for the last two classes. Jake also had to say good bye to all his friends at morning care. Jake had two little blonde twins in his class that taught him how to climb on furniture. He was sick the last day of class and never got to say a proper good bye to "The Girls" and his teachers. He is going to have to stop in and show off his running and climbing skills the next time we are in town.

Getting Elmo pictures every month is actually not as easy as it sounds. Jake 13 months.

Showing off his climbing skills

Jake found Daddy's old phone and figured out how to play its one song. Boom Boom Pow played non stop for over a week before the phone couldn't take it anymore.

Dancing is EXHAUSTING

Hanging out with Grandpa. Jake does not like to keep his hat on, but he LOVES to wear Grandpa's.

Last Swim Class

Before we left we were able to go to cousin Lillian's christening. Lillian looked like quite the lovely lady. Jake was not too excited about sharing his Mommy. We are working on Jake's mommy sharing skills as he also pushes Daddy away and gives him the side eye.

We had a bit of a rough flight coming back west as our flight way delayed and our bulk head seats were given away to an "elite" member and his grown kid who kept making out with his girlfriend. Jake didn't sleep at all on the flight until we landed but stayed sleeping through the airport and while we picked up out luggage, which made things a bit easier not having to run after him. Lola flew out the day before and was reunited with her friends at doggie daycare. they lined up and sang her LOOOOO LAAAA LA LA LA LA LA LOOOOOO LAAAA song when she came in and then gave her a cow tail. She remembered the house and ran straight to the couch to pull the cushions off and look for the bones she buried in the cushions.
