36 Weeks

Lola is brilliant. There really is no way around it. She is a lady of both looks and intelligence. The other day she helped me clean the bathrooms. Then she got bored, so I gave her a variety of boxes to chew on and make a mess. I thought she was being good ( Lola has taught me that this phrase never has a happy ending). I heard her chewing away and saw her sitting quietly on the floor. Apparently Lola did not want any of the boxes that I gave her as she somehow found a juice box ( I keep one in the bedroom incase I am not feeling well) and poked a single hole in the box and was sitting on the floor ever so gently pawing the box and licking the little stream of juice from the little tiny tooth hole. Then she saw me looking shocked, picked up her box and squeezed juice all over the rug throughout our bedroom as she ran away. Lola also has figured out how to open the laundry room door, take her leash and collar and howl at the front door until she gets her walk. She tried to steal her box of cookies, but dropped them on the way out the sliding door. When she got caught red pawed she gave out an ARF of defeat and then went and sat on the couch. Everyday is another story with Princess Pesty Paws. Thankfully she is beloved at doggie daycare by the workers and has a great time playing with her friends.

Today was the 36 week MD apt. Baby is doing well. Baby is LOOOOOW. Baby's heart rate is in a normal range. Other than that nothing much goes on at the apts. Next one is not for another 2 weeks. I am hoping baby is here before then, but this is my kid we are talking about here, and timing isnt exactly one of my strong points, so the baby will probably be really early or really late.

Baby keeps swimming around but has been getting a little feisty about the cramped space and stretches out with much enthusiasm. Baby is also NOT a fan of early morning alarm clocks and startles and swims around in protest. Other than that Baby is just hanging out and has given up on kicking Lola off the belly when she snuggles.

"Hey Lola do you want to take a belly picture" apparently not.

36 weeks next to the Pack N Play. We had to put up the doors to the front room after Lola tried to burry a bone in the pack n play. We then had to buy tiny bungie cords to hold the doors together and keep Lola from breaking through the doors.

35 weeks

Lola has been going to doggie daycare about 2x/week and making many new friends. She got a report card that said she was very well behaved and loved treat time. It also said which dogs she enjoyed playing with the most. It makes me feel much better about leaving her. While she was at school I got to do a massive amount of grocery shopping, cooking and freezing. At the very least the freezer is ready for baby to come.

Lola also got a beautiful red light to clip onto her collar so that we can see where she is at night. she is the red blur that runs by the windows or is sitting on top of her house. One of these days someone is going to call NASA thinking the aliens have landed. We have been trying to get a video, but no such luck yet.

Baby is still hanging out and moving around quite a bit. Everyday it seems the baby is lower and lower, but still in there. The next dr apt isnt for over another week, so everyone's just hanging out.

We decided to give Lola a trial at sleep over doggie daycare so that she is used to staying over and knows that we will come back to get her. This way it wont be even more stressful for her when we leave here there while I am in the hospital and then she is coming home to a baby. Its very lonely here without Pesty Paws. They do not have office hours on sundays, so while she still gets to play with her friends, we can not go pick her up until the morning. While she is gone we have to reinforce the fence in the backyard as she dug up all the bricks from where she escapes under the fence, and ate all the ties from where she squeezes through the fence.

We continue to try and keep Lola off the couches. It continues to not be working very well. We decided to put sheets on the couch so that at the very least it would be easier to get all the doggie dirt off the couch. We also thought limiting the seating space available on the couch by piling on multiple pillows would do the trick. It did not. She instead throws the pillows across the room and peals back the sheets so that the couch will meet her standards. Before she went to daycare for the weekend she pulled the large couch cushions off and buried a half eaten rawhide gingerbread girl in the seat of the couch and covered it with one of the sheets and multiple throw pillows. At least she approves of them being used somehow.

Sometimes we cant find Lola.

She likes to snuggle herself.

35 weeks. The belly literally got bigger from the morning to the afternoon, and then even bigger one day when I was taking a nap. I woke up to hear - WOOOO THE BABY GOT BIG WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING !!!!

We were both pretty exhausted after a massive brunch at the Space Needle

from the side. Im really not as miserable or as confused as I tend to look in these pictures.

WHOOOO BELLY

The Belly is getting BIG and LOW !!!! I woke up one morning and the baby went from up in my ribs to way down low on my hips. Its nice to be abel to breath again, but thats pretty much all I can do without a lot of effort. Baby is still moving all over and seems to be having quite the time in there. Way to go baby !!

Lola has been Trouble. We have had a few days of really cold and rainy weather, which leaves her to make up her own games. She made up her mind that it was no longer acceptable that she not be allowed to look out the front windows and decided to bullrush the metal gate in the hall and snap it in half. We have to go into the attic and get the doors to keep her out of the office because she finds paperwork delicious. When I get dressed and ready to go out she steals my handbag. When she wants to go for a walk she pulls our coats off the hooks, brings them to the front door and HOWLS. Thankfully last week she went to doggie day care on post and had a great time. She didn't even want to say hello to the daycare workers and went straight into the play yard to make new friends. Today when I asked her if she wanted to go to daycare she flew off the couch and started howling at the front door. What a social butterfly. An exhausting social butterfly.

33 Weeks

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!

With less than 2 months to go we got a lot done this week. We washed and put away all the baby's clothes and blankets and got the last of the nursery put together. There still isn't anything on the walls yet so we can decorate more gender specific after the baby gets here. Luckily, the room was already painted for a nursery so that was one less thing to worry about. Baby is flipping and kicking and swirling like crazy. Lola got a kick to the head when she tried to use the belly as a pillow.

Lola had a fun week being trouble. She learned how to unlatch the gate in the house so that she can go steal clothes from the laundry room. She likes to sit on top of her dog house to keep a better watch over her yard and knock on the window to see what's going on inside. She has incorporated the house into her sprints and hurdles right over it mid-lap. She also went on her first walk with the stroller. She was not really too sure why she was being followed by an empty cart, but she did pretty well for her first time. This week she is going to try out the doggie day care on post to see how she likes it so that she can hang out there when we are at the hospital.
