The weather has cooled off from the hot summer we had up here, but it still has been unseasonably warm for the fall. Jake has been enjoying the warm weather by taking Lola for lots of walks, and playing outside by running sprints down the driveway in his walker. He throws his head back and moves his little legs faster that you can believe. He loves it. He has mastered turning before he hits the street and continues to sprint down the sidewalk. Since the weather cooled off Mommy finally got moving and got Jake his big boy car seat. The major motivating factor was to get a picture of Jake in his Halloween costume in his carseat looking like he was ready to take off, but the seat got installed before the nasty rainy weather and snow came, so the picture never happened, whoops.
Jake has been pulling to stand for some time, but now he can stand just by touching things for balance. He can cruise across the couch only holding on with one hand or side ways with his chest on the couch for balance. He can take steps when he is holding someone's hands. he can crawl amazingly fast and chases the snail when it rolls across the room. He can open the drawer on mommy's dresser and pull out all the clothes and throw them on the floor. He has been eating solid foods like a champ, but will only eat puffs as finger foods. He can say MAMAMAMAMA for all occasions. When he is asked a question he thinks about an answer and then huffs and puffs and makes different noises to answer. He can get the bathtub foam letters to stick to the tub walls. He can give kisses and hugs. Occasionally he will wave. He can drink from a sippy cup on his own, sometimes he even drinks from the correct side. He can pet the dogs nicely. He now has 5 teeth, 2 on the bottom and 3 on the top. He is a pretty amazing little guy.
We took a trip to The Wallers
Jake got to play with Lillian
Someone's on trouble. Someone is looking for trouble. Lola has been reminding us more and more that the gates are just around for show and that she can jump them at anytime. She also likes to remind us that she is a wild beast that can not be tamed and digs up grandma's house plants.

Being a troublemaker is tiresome.

The first thing Jake does in the morning is crawl over to the sliding door, grab the stopper and practice his swing.

Jake tries to get sympathy when he is in jail by being cute and sticking out his tongue. (he goes in there so mommy can eat without chasing him not because he is being bad)

I finally got Jake a pair of shoes. It is easier for him to walk and balance on bare feet, but with the weather getting cooler he needed something to keep his little toesies warm. Unfortunately they do not stay on his feet. He also got a pair of skiddies which are socks that have a full shoe sole on the bottom. They stay on better and keep him from cutting up his toes when he does his sprints down the driveway in his walker.

We went pumpkin picking. Jake had lots of fun touching all the indian corn, gords, straw and pumpkins.

Halloween is a lot more fun with a little boy to dress up in spooky outfits.
I tried to take a self picture of the two of us. Jake thought the camera was absolutely hysterical. His bones glow in the dark and he has a pumpkin for a heart.
9 Months. This month's pictures were super fun to take because we were able to combine them with Jake's Halloween costume.
" MR PEANUT I AM BIGGER THAN YOU !!!!"
Space Cowboy
The Astronaut and The Alien. I had high hopes of the two of them sitting together with the blue mat behind them like they were floating in the sky. That obviously did not turn out so well.....
we tried all different angles
getting a picture of the Space Commander taming the Alien wasnt easy either.
This was the best we could get of all three of us.
Halloween weekend was especially spooky this year. We got an early snow storm and lost power again, but luckily we got the generator going and the down comforter on the bed. Jake got a night of Mommy snuggles and the power went back on in the morning.
