HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAKE !!!!!

Jake has had a wonderful and eventful first birthday. Yesterday we reminded Jake that it was his last day as an infant before he became a toddler. He took the hint and started toddling. He had been taking a step or two here and there for the past week. Mostly in order to step from the coffee table to Mommy to get my attention. yesterday though he really got a move on. He started the day only walking in Lola's lounging room from the couch, to her gate, to the wall and back again. By the end of the night he was walking the length of the kitchen like a drunken soldier. Today he is getting a little more confident and will stand up on his own and walk across the room. He still will not walk when asked and prefers to walk without pants. When he wants to get somewhere fast his preferred method of transportation is still sprint crawling.

Jake woke up today and we read birthday books together. We went for birthday breakfast at Panera and he got lots of birthday wishes from the little boy getting a bagel and from the EMT squad having breakfast. Jake loves attention and had a great time showing everyone how well he can chew on a cup. After his nap he got to see Daddy sing Happy Birthday on the computer. Mommy helped him blow out the candle on his birthday cupcake and then he got to smear the icing on grandma's glass table- what could be more fun than that ?
